Solving Problems in Business

Running a business creates many problems that are unique to each company. The first step to solving a problem is to ask questions and understand the symptoms detectors.

What are the symptoms of the problem? Often in business many managers spend a lot of time dealing with the symptoms of a problem, while ignoring the cause of symptoms. The attempt to resolve only the symptoms, while not truly appreciate the heart of the problem can lead to even more problems in the long term.

Let's examine a situation in which my previous activity had decreased sales. Therefore, the decrease in sales was a symptom and now he must get to the root. Because our sales are declining? Our product was not as good as your competitors? Were our methods to generate sales of less than our competitors? Were our customers leave us because we were not able to meet their delivery times?

We used to provide a large company with the electronics packaging. Gradually over time have begun to buy less and less. When I studied the problem it actually turned out that our boy who had the task of connecting with the customer did not get too comfortable with the head of production in the electronics company that actually used in our packaging.

Now the head of production had no power to make any purchase, but why not go ahead at all with our man because of previous history ... he wanted his company to change supplier. He was actually trying to find the weak points of our products which did not exist.

The symptom was the loss of sales. The problem had nothing to do with price, quality or delivery. Rather it was created solely because of our inability to be a man able to communicate with their head of production!

Once the main problem was understood, we focused on building good relations with the head of production. Now we had a girl in our office who has worked exclusively in the distribution sector, but it turned out that was a good friend of this chapter. We changed his role so that only he maintained contact with this type of production. Sales to our customers has increased very quickly and soon they returned to their normal levels.

So the first step to solving a problem in business is to identify all the symptoms. Once the symptoms have been well defined and studied, then we can start looking for the underlying problem.

When we spotted the problem then by further analysis, we can arrive at a solution that works well and takes care of key issues.

Do you have a business problem? What are the symptoms? How did they appear and in what time frame? Are symptoms related? Do not try to fix the symptoms rather focus on the problem. What is the underlying problem? As can best be addressed effectively?

As the problem occurs? When it first occur? What weaknesses have you identified in your business model? How do you overcome this weakness? How do you fix the underlying problem so that the symptoms disappear completely? ......
